Michael Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor and co-owner of Northland Complete Counseling. He has worked in the mental health field for over 10 years. He has worked in almost every segment of mental health. He ran the Adolescent Residential Unit at Crittenton Children's Hospital. Then he worked at Pathways Community Mental Health and for the last 4 years he has been in private practice in the Liberty area.
Michael genuinely just wants to help people. He is compassionate and understanding and will not judge you. He has heard it all so he is more than capable to help you no matter the situation. People are immediately comfortable with Michael which makes it easy for people to connect to him. Michael believes that your bond with your therapist makes the difference in your mental health treatment.
Michael is experienced in working with military families and understands the particular topics that come with it. He is EMDR trained. EMDR is a therapy that is used to help those who have experienced trauma process the traumatic event to reduce its negative hold. He is also trained in teaching DBT skills to help people get through difficult situations through communication and coping skills. Michael enjoys working with couples and helps them communicate their thoughts and feelings with each other in a way that works. Michael has the skill that it takes to get teenagers to open up. He also specializes in addictions. He is able to help people identify underlying factors of their addiction and then can treat those factors, which will help break the cycle of addiction.
Michael understands that kids are in school and a lot of people work during the day, so it is difficult for you to make daytime appointments. He knows that sometimes by leaving school or work to make appointments can actually exasperate the problem you are trying to fix. This is why he offers so many evening and weekend appointments. 80% of his appointments are weekdays 5pm and later or weekends.
